Tokenize a Game
A game that already exists on just.bet can be given a token. The launch is the same transaction as a new launch: the same fee, the same supply, the same locked pool, the same fee split. The difference is where the game comes from.
Two Ways In
| New launch | Tokenize | |
|---|---|---|
| Starts from | A name, a ticker, a description and a logo | A published just.bet game |
| Game | Generated from the token, then claimed and published by the launcher | Already published; already has a creator |
| Token | Minted at launch, 100% in the locked pool | The same |
| Creator share of gross loss | 10% | 15%, from the moment the game is tokenized |
Either way the token and the game are bound to each other. The token’s page links to the game and the game’s page links to the token.
The Creator Share
A game on just.bet earns its creator a share of the gross loss players leave on it. That share is deducted before net gaming revenue is computed, as described in Revenue Flow.
For a game with no token the share is 10%. Tokenizing the game raises it to 15%, for as long as the game runs. The rate is applied by the same settlement that pays every creator, weekly, and it is stated in the studio when a creator tokenizes.
The uplift is on the creator’s share of game revenue. It is separate from the 30% of pool fees the launcher earns on the token, which every launch pays regardless of how the game was made.
Who Can Tokenize
The game’s creator, from the studio on just.bet. The creator signs the launch from their own wallet and pays the launch fee. The token’s admin and the recipient of the 30% share of pool fees is that wallet.
A game can be tokenized once. The token cannot be replaced.
What Does Not Change
- The game’s maths, art and sound. Tokenizing does not regenerate or republish the game.
- The game’s history. Plays and settlements before the token are unaffected.
- The bankroll. The game settles against the WINR bankroll before and after, on the same terms. See The Bankroll.
